On January 10, 2026, the staff and students of VSMU, united as a friendly team, embarked on a one-day trip along the route Vitebsk – Glubokoye – Utryna Estate – Vitebsk.
First, the travelers delved into the history of the Glubokoe region at the city’s historical and ethnographic museum. Afterwards, they enjoyed a fascinating tour of the magnificent Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cathedral and its mysterious underground vaults – which, by the way, is the largest underground temple complex in Belarus!
The highlight of this mini-adventure was a visit to the Utryna estate, featuring an Indian village, playful and friendly husky sled dogs, horses, goats, sheep, and other domestic animals.
There, visitors were treated to a vibrant costume show performed by almost authentic leaders of an Indian tribe – an unforgettable experience!
It’s worth noting that all of this took place on a vast clearing in the middle of a fairy-tale winter forest.
The trip was organized by the trade union committees of the university’s staff and students, for which we are deeply grateful!
We look forward to more adventures together!
