The traditional sports contest "Vigor and Health-2026" has been launched at Vitebsk State Medical University.

The opening ceremony of the competition among faculty, staff, and representatives of the VSMU veterans' organization took place on January 26, 2026.

Dmitry Kuzhel, Vice-Rector of Ideological and Educational Work, and Alexander Myasoedov, Chairman of the primary trade union organization of employees, addressed the participants with welcoming words and words of encouragement. In their speeches, they wished the teams sporting achievements, success in conquering new heights, and emphasized the importance of such events in strengthening the corporate spirit, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and fostering a friendly atmosphere within the university community.

This year's Spartakiad program includes competitions in volleyball, table tennis, darts, badminton, checkers and chess, shooting, tennis, swimming, bowling, billiards, skiing, and ice fishing.

The sports competitions will last until February 8.
