On January 27, 2026, Vitebsk State Medical University hosted a round table titled "Modern Approaches to Conducting Scientific Research and Teaching Fundamental Disciplines at a Medical University."

The event was attended by a representative of the First St. Petersburg State Medical University named after Academician I.P. Pavlov, Victoria Gavrilina. She not only presented her university but also shared her unique experience with the Anatomical Hermitage of the St. Petersburg State Medical University.

Anna Kupchenko, head of the Department of Operative Surgery and Topographic Anatomy, delivered a presentation on behalf of VSMU, demonstrating innovative methods for practicing practical skills with students. Elena Lebedeva, an associate professor of the Department of Histology, Cytology, and Embryology, discussed large-scale scientific research at the university utilizing molecular genetic and cellular technologies.

During the meeting, prospects for further cooperation between VSMU and the First St. Petersburg State Medical University named after Academician I.P. Pavlov were outlined, marking a new stage in their joint scientific and educational activities.
