On February 9, 2026, Vitebsk State Medical University hosted a solemn ceremony marking the commencement of the second academic semester of the 2025/2026 academic year.

The event began with the raising of the National Flag of the Republic of Belarus. The ceremony was attended by Vladimir Plytkevich, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Organization of the Trade Union of Healthcare Workers; representatives of the university administration, faculty, students, and employees of VSMU.

Dmitry Kuzhel, Vice-Rector of Ideological and Educational Work, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech, wishing everyone a productive semester, boundless energy in mastering new knowledge, high academic achievements, and the successful realization of their plans.

At the conclusion of the event, the folk pop song studio Tandem performed a musical piece dedicated to their homeland, Belarus.
