As part of the events dedicated to the 37th anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan, VSMU hosted a meeting between 3rd-year students and combat veteran and senior lecturer at the Military Department, Sergey Trishin.

The veteran, who has been twice awarded the Order of the Red Star and numerous other state honors, conducted a "Lesson of Courage" for the students. Sergey Semenovich shared his memories of the events from 1987 to 1989, in which he directly participated in Afghanistan.

Additionally, students were introduced to a thematic exhibition featuring unique photographs from Sergey Trishin's personal archive, depicting key moments of his service during the Afghan campaign.
