On February 10, 2026, VSMU hosted a meeting between Vice Rector for Research, Elena Asirian, and graduate and doctoral students. The event was organized as part of the implementation of the action plan to enhance the training system for highly qualified scientific and pedagogical personnel.
The main goal of the meeting was to improve the quality of scientific work conducted by young researchers.
Leading university experts delivered presentations:
Vladimir Lollini, Chairman of the Independent Ethics Committee, Professor of the Department of Hospital Therapy and Cardiology with a course in Faculty of Advanced Training and Staff Retraining, Doctor of Medical Sciences, and Professor, provided a detailed overview of the ethical aspects of conducting clinical trials. He explained the examination process and emphasized the importance of adhering to ethical standards when working with patients.
Sergey Osochuk, Head of the Research Laboratory, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, focused on key requirements for preparing primary documentation, highlighting that proper record-keeping is essential for the reliability and reproducibility of scientific results.
Vyacheslav Prishchepenko, Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor, presented an overview of current grant programs and scholarships for young researchers. He also emphasized the procedures for preparing applications and the criteria for successful consideration.
Ilona Lapuseva, leading librarian, addressed the proper design of bibliographic references—from technical formatting to ethical citation practices. Her presentation drew particular interest among graduate students preparing scientific articles for publication.
Organizing such meetings is an integral part of systematic work with graduate and doctoral students and significantly contributes to improving the quality of scientific research within the medical field.
