On February 19, 2026, a Unified Information Day was held at Vitebsk State Medical University (VSMU) and the VSMU Clinic. The event, which brought together all structural divisions and faculties of the university, focused on topical issues of national security: "The Defense Power of the Belarusian Army and Patriotism in Modern Conditions."
Participants included students, faculty members, and doctors attending the Faculty of Advanced Training and Staff Retraining. The deans of faculties and heads of structural divisions delivered presentations to the audience.
Defense Power: From History to the Present
Based on specific facts and statistical data, speakers discussed the current state of the Belarusian army, its technical equipment, and the high level of professionalism among personnel, which guarantees the peaceful life of citizens.
The focus during the briefing was on the role of the Head of State in the formation, reform, and equipping of the Belarusian army. It was highlighted that, thanks to consistent state policy, the Armed Forces meet the highest standards of training.
Patriotism as Everyday Work
An important part of the Unified Information Day was the discussion about patriotism. Speakers emphasized that in the modern world, patriotism extends far beyond military service.
True patriotism also involves daily conscientious work for the benefit of the country.
This idea became the leitmotif of the meeting. Participants spoke about the importance of professional duty, especially for future doctors, whose work is directly related to saving lives and strengthening the nation's health.
A Living Example of Service to the Fatherland
During the event, special mention was made of the high patriotic awareness among students and staff at VSMU. A vivid example of this is the active work of the military-patriotic club "I Serve the Fatherland." Club members regularly initiate and participate in significant projects.
The importance of outreach work and the participation of university youth in patriotic actions aimed at preserving historical memory and ensuring the continuity of generations was also highlighted.
These initiatives clearly demonstrate that VSMU students are ready to contribute to the development and protection of their homeland — not merely in words, but in deeds.
