On March 5, 2026, a meeting of the final board of the Ministry of Health was held with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, Natalia Petkevich; Chairman of the Standing Committee on Health, Physical Culture, Family, and Youth Policy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly, Valery Malashko; Chairman of the Republican Committee of the Belarusian Trade Union of Healthcare Workers, Vyacheslav Shilo; representatives of the deputy corps; heads of healthcare institutions across the country; and other interested parties.

Alexey Chukanov, Rector of Vitebsk State Medical University, also participated in the event.

The report on the results of the industry’s work in 2025 and the tasks for 2026 was presented by the Minister of Health, Alexander Khodzhaev.

In his speech about the tasks for the current five-year plan, including efforts within the framework of the new socio-economic development program and the State Program "Health of the Nation," Khodzhaev emphasized the industry’s constant benchmarks: improving the quality of personnel training, practice orientation, and the enhancement of the material and technical base.

During the event, VSMU showcased modern developments achieved through state scientific and technical programs and research initiatives. Additionally, finalist projects of the Republican program "100 Ideas for Belarus" were presented.
