On April 10, 2026, the Vitebsk State Medical University hosted a University Council dedicated to summarizing the activities of the university staff in 2025 and defining tasks for 2026.

The Council was attended by Lyudmila Kovaleva, Deputy Head of the General Directorate for Healthcare of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Vladimir Plytkevich, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Committee of the Belarusian Trade Union of Healthcare Workers, Ekaterina Boriseevich, General Director of the Vitebsk Trade and Production Republican unitary Enterprise “Pharmacy”, the administration of the VSMU, university staff and students.

During the report by Alexey Chukanov, Rector of VSMU, the effectiveness of measures to implement the instructions of the Ministry of Health for the development of the medical education system with an emphasis on practice orientation was analyzed, specific instructions were given to improve this work, and the persons responsible for their implementation were identified.

The university's faculty and staff received awards in various categories for achievements in 2025.
