Single Information Day "Chernobyl: from renaissance to sustainable development"

topic chernobyl 01On April 16, 2026, VSMU hosted a single information day dedicated to the theme: "Chernobyl: from renaissance to sustainable development." Dmitry Kuzhel, Vice Rector for Ideological and Educational Work, addressed the university staff. He highlighted in detail the path taken by our country: from the large-scale elimination of the consequences of the disaster and rehabilitation of polluted territories to their stable socio-economic development.

The report focused on the current State Program "Public Safety Infrastructure" for 2026-2030, a tool for further protection of affected regions and their residents.

The meeting participants discussed key areas of government policy in the Chernobyl area.

Special attention was paid to the issues of social protection of citizens on a Single information Day. Dmitry Kuzhel dwelled in detail on disease prevention measures, wide possibilities of sanatorium-resort treatment and rehabilitation, as well as on the system of special medical examination of the population — the most important components of caring for the health of those who suffered from the Chernobyl disaster.
