On May 7, 2026, the laying of the Lilac of Victory Alley of Memory and Hope took place on the territory of the Vitebsk State Medical University Clinic. The event was dedicated to the enduring feat of military doctors who selflessly saved lives on the battlefields and in frontline hospitals during the Great Patriotic War.

Having united around the initiative to create a symbolic space, the rector of VSMU Alexey Chukanov, representatives of the university administration and the staff of the Clinic took part in the planting ceremony of the alley.

Each department of the institution chose a song about the Great Patriotic War, the lines of which were put on plaques installed at the roots of each lilac bush.

The alley is designed to remind students and university staff of the high mission of a doctor — to be a defender of life and health, following the precepts of their ancestors.
