On May 8, 2026, Vitebsk State Medical University hosted a solemn event dedicated to Victory Day and the Day of the National Flag, the National Emblem and the National Anthem of the Republic of Belarus.

The solemn event was attended by the rector of VSMU Alexey Chukanov, representatives of the administration, teachers, students of VSMU and students of the VSMK named after academician I.P. Antonov.

The guests of the celebration were Vladimir Plytkevich, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Organization of the Belarusian Trade Union of Healthcare Workers, and Elena Orlova, Director of the Vitebsk State Medical College named after Academician I.P. Antonov.

The rector of the University, Alexey Chukanov, addressed the audience with words of congratulations.

The honorary right to raise the National Flag of the Republic of Belarus was granted to the lieutenant colonel of the medical service, senior lecturer of the military department Arseniy Tsygankov, as well as distinguished university students.

The event ended with a truly inspiring moment: to the sounds of the Victory melody, students and teachers danced a waltz, which, like a symbol of generational continuity, gradually united all those present.
