On May 7, VSMU joined the International Scientific and Practical Conference "They forged victory! Medical workers during the Great Patriotic War".
The event was held in a remote format on the basis of a partner university, the Institute of Medicine, Ecology and Physical Culture of Ulyanovsk State University.
The conference, dedicated to the 81st anniversary of the Great Victory, brought together students, schoolchildren and teachers who are not indifferent to the history of military medicine. Participation in it became an opportunity for Vitebsk students not only to present the results of their research, but also to pay tribute to the heroes in white coats who, along with the soldiers, saved lives at the front and in the rear.
Two female students made presentations from VSMU:
Dinara Ermoshchenko presented to the conference participants a study on the selfless work of military doctors. Her report was called: "The contribution of military doctors to the victory in the Great Patriotic War. The feat of military doctor A.I. Plastov". In her speech, the student highlighted in detail the legendary feat of A.I. Plastov, whose fate is a vivid example of courage and selfless service to his cause in extreme wartime conditions.
Kudina Milana delivered a touching and deeply personal message on the topic: "The role of my family's history in the history of the country during the Great Patriotic War." Her report became a vivid confirmation that the memory of the war is alive in every home, and family chronicles form a single heroic chronicle of the people who brought Victory closer.
Participation in such international forums helps strengthen scientific and cultural ties between universities in Belarus and Russia, as well as solves the most important task of patriotic education of young people, preserving the historical truth about the decisive role of the Soviet people and their medical workers in defeating fascism.
