On May 10, 2026, a solemn event dedicated to the Day of the National Flag, the National Emblem and the National Anthem of the Republic of Belarus took place on the Flag and Coat of Arms Square in Vitebsk.

Thousands of citizens have gathered here today to express their sincere respect for the main symbols of the country, which unites history and modernity, generations and destinies into a single whole.

A delegation of staff and students of Vitebsk State Medical University, headed by Rector Alexey Chukanov, took part in the celebration.

The most striking and exciting moment of the celebration was the procession of the festive column: a huge 100-meter state banner was carried along Stroiteley Avenue. VSMU students are among those who have the honor to carry the main symbol of independence.
