On May 14, 2026, Alexey Chukanov, Rector of the University, member of the Presidium of the Vitebsk City Council of Deputies, took part in a meeting of the permanent seminar of the Parliamentary Assembly of Belarus and Russia, held as part of the exhibition "Healthcare of Belarus".

Parliamentarians, leading scientists and healthcare organizers discussed topical issues of the development of modern healthcare systems in the two countries: digital transformation, measures to support young professionals, demographic security.
