Vitebsk State Medical University to become a member of the chemical-pharmaceutical scientific and educational cluster of the EAEU and CIS

On July 3, 2020, a regular meeting of the chemical-pharmaceutical scientific and educational cluster of the EAEU and CIS countries was held via video link. The organizer of the meeting was St. Petersburg Chemical and Pharmaceutical University, the coordinator of the cluster. The agenda of the meeting was to make a decision on joining of new members to the cluster, to approve development program and solve organizational issues of the cluster.

As of the date of the meeting, the cluster included 12 institutions of higher medical and pharmaceutical education of the Russian Federation. On July 3, 2020, the cluster took in 4 new educational institutions - one each from the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Vitebsk State Order of Peoples’ Friendship Medical University will represent the Republic of Belarus in the chemical-pharmaceutical scientific and educational cluster. In total, cluster members involve 16 institutions of higher medical and pharmaceutical education of the EAEU and CIS countries.

At the meeting, a development program of a chemical-pharmaceutical scientific and educational cluster for 2020-2025 was adopted. The program provides for measures aimed at developing a unified methodology to implement educational programs of higher and secondary vocational education; to develop new educational technologies; to form and develop professional communication networks; to participate in international programs and projects, to promote cooperation with domestic and foreign partners in order to improve the system of medical and pharmaceutical education; to enhance the prestige of pharmaceutical education. The agenda of cluster’s work is to participate in joint innovative and research projects, to set up joint conferences and forums aimed at civic-patriotic, spiritual, moral and sports and fitness education of students.

The meeting approved the preliminary composition of the working groups for development of educational and methodological support in implementation of pharmaceutical education programs, development of academic mobility and distance learning technologies. Employees of the pharmaceutical faculty of our university will be involved in all areas of work.

The participation of VSMU in cluster events will improve the quality of educational and upbringing processes, promote the development of scientific capability and increase the level of professional competencies of employees and students.
