Within the framework of the program “Youth Capital 2022”, a dialogue platform called “Volunteer Movement” was held at VSMU on March 11, 2022. Volunteer guests, representatives of 51 universities of the Republic of Belarus visited the Training Center for Practical and Simulation Competence of VSMU.

Following that, there was an excursion organized for guests, which included a visit to the anatomical museum of VSMU. The Head of the Chair of Human Anatomy, Professor Alexander Konstantinovich Usovich told our guests about methods for diagnosing various diseases using computed tomography, radiography, and magnetic resonance therapy. In addition, he raised the topic of pathologies of human embryonic development, demonstrated the circulatory system on a mannequin, showed teeth and dental jaws. Our guests were very impressed by the exhibits of the museum.

After that there was a dialogue of volunteers in the conference hall. VSMU students not only talked about their achievements, but also held a master class. The “All Inclusive” team told and showed how to properly assist people in a wheelchair when climbing a ramp, moving on stairs, and also touched upon an important aspect of comfortable communication with people with disabilities.

Participants shared their impressions: Egor Polyansky, a student of the Institute of Entrepreneurial Activity, said, “Students of our university participate in the activities of the Red Cross, Belarusian Republican Youth Union, we help people and volunteers in every possible way. We also participate in many programs helping aged people master the latest Internet technologies, how to use computers and mobile phones. In Vitebsk, we also managed to visit the Theater named after Yakub Kolas and Pobedy Square. Despite the frosty weather of the northern city, Vitebsk welcomed us quite warmly.”

A student of Belarusian State University of Transport, Maria (represents the volunteer movement of Gomel), said, “Volunteers are people with a big heart. We want to make the world a little bit better and kinder. We like to see our friends' smiles. Our university has repeatedly participated in many events related to the improvement of courtyards, playgrounds, assistance in organizing events at various levels. In Vitebsk, I managed to visit University named after P.M. Masherov, got acquainted with the map of the city, historically significant places. I was impressed by Vitebsk State Medical University, the activity of students and the diverse educational and practical process. I wish everyone good mood in these cool, but already spring days!”

Vitebsk state medical university students have always been superb in volunteering projects. Today 11th of march students from local universities from all over the country were warmly welcomed to our university where firstly they had the chance to see our amazing anatomical museum. After that they were invited to conference hall where our students proudly presented all kind of volunteering programs and taught our precious guests how to assess people with disabilities on wheelchairs .
