Department of Internal Diseases and Ultrasound Diagnosis of the Faculty of Advanced Training and Staff Retraining

The Department provides the following advanced training:

– “Treatment of Diseases of Internal Organs from the Perspective of Modern International Recommendations and Agreements”;

– “Diagnosis, treatment and prevention of demographically significant therapeutic diseases in the work of a general practitioner”;

– “Diagnostics and Treatment of Therapeutic and Endocrine Diseases”;

– “Diagnostics and Treatment of Emergency Conditions for Diseases of Internal Organs”;

– “Pharmaceutical Consultation on Pain Syndrome in the Practice of a Pharmacist”;

– “Practical Issues of Somatoneurology”;

– “Difficult to Diagnose Therapeutic Diseases”;

– “Diagnosis, Treatment and Medical Rehabilitation for Respiratory Diseases from the Perspective of Evidence-based Medicine”;

– “Diagnostics and Treatment of Current Rheumatological and Hematological Diseases in the Professional Activity of a Doctor”;

–“Ultrasound Diagnostics for Diseases of Internal Organs”;

– retraining “Ultrasound Diagnostics”, “Ultrasound Diagnostics of Joints and Surrounding Soft Tissues” (1 week);

– “Ultrasound Diagnostics in the specialty: Ultrasound Diagnostics in Abdominal Surgery” (4 weeks).

The Department also conducts classes with 6th year students of the General Medicine Faculty and 6th year students of the Overseas Students Training Faculty in the discipline “Internal Diseases”, “Clinical Ultrasound Diagnostics”; practical classes and lectures in the discipline “Radiation Diagnostics” with 3rd year students of the General Medicine Faculty, 3rd year students of the FOST (Russian and English), as well as in the discipline “Radiation Diagnostics and Radiation Therapy” for 3rd year students of the Stomatological Faculty and 3rd year FOST students (Russian and English). From August 30 to December 27, 2023, the Department conducts retraining in the discipline “Radiation Diagnostics”.

The Department constantly trains domestic and foreign doctors in clinical residency in Therapy and Endocrinology. The clinical base of the Department is the Vitebsk Regional Clinical Hospital. The level of teaching at the Department meets the high requirements of domestic healthcare.

The staff members of the Department provide great assistance to practical healthcare: consultations are held for patients who are difficult to diagnose and treat in the Vitebsk Regional Clinical Hospital, as well as in hospitals and clinics of the city and region.

Professors of the Department A.N. Okorokov and S.I. Pimanov are widely known to doctors of the Republic of Belarus and the CIS countries for the books written by them on medical topics.
