On November 23, 2023 at 2 p.m. in the conference hall of the main academic building at a meeting of the University Council, applicants for academic titles will be presented:

• Head of the Department of Medical Rehabilitation with a course of FAT and RP, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor T.L. Olenskaya - to the academic title of professor in the specialty “Medicine”;
• Associate Professor of the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery and Surgical Dentistry with a course of FAT and RP, Ph.D. A.I. Goncharova - to the academic rank of associate professor in the specialty “Medical Biology”.

On November 10-11, 2023, the XI All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference of Students and Young Scientists with international participation “CURRENT PROBLEMS OF SCIENCE OF THE XXI CENTURY: AUTUMN MARATHON” was held at Smolensk State Medical University (Russian Federation).

Our university was represented by the 2nd year students of the Faculty of Medicine, group 15 Kushchin M.K. and Ladik N.O. Their scientific work “Expression of microRNA-489-3p and Mmp-9 mRNA in toxic liver fibrosis of rats” (scientific supervisor: Associate Professor of the Department of Histology E.I. Lebedeva, Associate Professor A.S. Babenko) took first place and was awarded a diploma. The university was also represented by the 6th year students of the Faculty of Medicine E.B. Pinchuk. from group 8 and Karpovich D.S. from group 4. Their scientific work “Microbiological landscape of the clinical picture during long-term artificial ventilation” (scientific supervisor, associate professor of the department of anesthesiology and resuscitation with a course of FAT and RP Kizimenko A.N.) took the second place and was awarded a diploma.

In accordance with the plan of the university and the regulations on the competition for an intra-university startup grant for students of the educational establishment “Vitebsk State Order of Peoples’ Friendship Medical University”, a competition is planned for 2024.

On November 12, 2023, in the Vitebsk Cultural Hall, students of the Sri Lankan community organized a wonderful festival of fire, light and peace “Diwali”. The guys demonstrated their numerous talents by performing national dances, songs and other fiery musical numbers. The festive atmosphere of the evening was also created by magnificent national costumes, Sri Lankan cuisine, fun games and bright decorations. The holiday gave a lot of positive emotions and showed the importance of preserving and maintaining national traditions.
