One of the state priorities for the development of the Republic of Belarus is to support socially vulnerable categories of citizens. Trade union organizations of employees and students, together with the administration of VSMU, provide targeted support to the families of employees and students at the university throughout the year. For example, the university administration provided financial assistance for the New Year to all students with children, as well as orphans and disabled students.

The trade union committee of VSMU students purchased New Year's gifts for students with children, as well as for orphan students. The trade union committee of VSMU employees also purchased New Year's gifts for the employees with children.

On the eve of Christmas, trade union organizations of employees and students of VSMU, together with the administration, the primary organization "Belarusian Women's Union" of VSMU and the Council of Veterans, visited an employee of the department of faculty therapy, young specialist Olga Kovtun, a mother of many children raising five children. Warm, sincere words, congratulations on the New Year and Christmas holidays, as well as wishes of all the best to the mother of many children were complemented by a sweet gift and a certificate from a young specialist at VSMU.
