On February 14, 2024, a solemn Council dedicated to summing up the work of VSMU for 2023 and tasks for 2024 was held at Vitebsk State Medical University.

The Head of the Main Directorate for Health Care of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Mikhail Vishnevetsky, the Head of the Main Directorate for Ideological Work and Youth Affairs of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Marina Novitskaya,the  Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Committee of the Belarusian Trade Union of Health Workers Vladimir Plytkevich, the General Director of the Vitebsk Trade and Production Republican Unitary Enterprise "Pharmacia" Ekaterina Boriseevich.

The University Rector Alexey Chukanov presented a report on the results of the work of the educational establishment “Vitebsk State Order of Peoples’ Friendship Medical University” for 2023 and tasks for 2024.

The event ended with awards for the university staff and students.

For significant personal contribution to the preservation of historical memory of the events and participants of the Great Patriotic War of 1941 - 1945, search work, implementation of projects to perpetuate the memory of the Great Patriotic War, VYACHESLAV VALENTINOVICH STANOVENKO, the head of the Faculty Surgery department, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor is recognized as the winner in the category “Military-Patriotic Work”.
