The delegation of VSMU, headed by the Vice-Rector for Educational Work Natalya Boltrushevich, took part in the Republican holiday “Brest - the youth capital of the Republic of Belarus - 2024”.

The event took place on February 15-17, 2024, in Brest, and was attended by about 400 young people from all over Belarus - members of the Council of Young Scientists under the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus; representatives of the student volunteer movement; representatives of the Council of Working Youth under the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus; leaders and activists of youth associations, etc.

The forum participants marched in a column with the State Flag of the Republic of Belarus to the Eternal Flame in the Brest Hero Fortress memorial complex, where they laid flowers and honored the memory of the fallen defenders of the Fatherland with a minute of silence.

On February 16, 2024, the Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists of VSMU, Vyacheslav Prishchepenko, took part in a meeting of the Council of Young Scientists under the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, held as part of the holiday “Brest - the youth capital of the Republic of Belarus - 2024”. During the meeting, the results of the qualifying rounds of the “100 Ideas for Belarus” competition, the work plan of the Council, and the provisions of new competitions were discussed. Young scientists also took part in the labor action “Let’s Build a Patriotic Center Together!”

Valeria Bubnova, a 5th year student of the Faculty of Medicine at VSMU, presented the volunteer section on the online dialogue platform “Volunteering without Borders”, the program of which included training for leaders of the volunteer movement, exchange of experience and discussion of interaction within the framework of the Year of Volunteer Movement etc.

Press secretary of the VSMU student council Anna Yakubyak took part in the practice-oriented seminar “Innovative tools for working in the media” for students involved in this field.

As part of the holiday program, participants visited the Brest Hero Fortress Memorial Complex and took part in a labor action for the construction of the Patriotic Center.

On February 17, 2024, the opening ceremony of the Republican holiday “Brest - the youth capital of the Republic of Belarus - 2024” was held with the participation of the Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus Andrei Ivanets.
