On April 15, 2024, a dialogue platform was held at VSMU with the 1st year students of the Faculty of Medicine with the participation of the assistant prosecutor of Vitebsk - V.V. Vikhrov.

The speaker told students about the progress of the investigation into the criminal case of the genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War.

It was noted that numerous, previously unknown facts of mass extermination of the civilian population of Belarus by Nazi criminals are being established.

It has now been revealed that the fascists and their accomplices carried out 180 major punitive operations, destroying 5,300 villages and hamlets with all or part of their inhabitants.

The investigation of the genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War is a tribute to the memory of those who died and contributes to the establishment and preservation of historical justice, serves the implementation of the anti-fascist principle: “Never again!”
