multidisciplinary challenge 01

The First Republican Olympiad with international participation in anaesthesiology, resuscitation and emergency medicine ‘Operation “Rescue”: multidisciplinary challenge’ was held in Minsk from April 21 to 22, 2025.

More than 30 teams competed in the distance stage, only the strongest ones - 6 Belarusian teams and 4 teams from Russia - reached the finals.

Among the finalist teams was the team ‘Adrenalin’ of Vitebsk State Medical University.

Team captain Kira Shuverova shares her impressions:

‘It was an incredibly interesting and intense experience, which allowed us to prove ourselves and show excellent results. The programme included the first round - a theoretical competition, the second round - the ‘Operation Rescue’ competition. The scenario was like a living embodiment of a real situation, in which you need to show all your skills to future doctors - to provide first aid to victims of road accidents.

But the tests did not end there. The whole second day took place on the basis of the Republican Centre for Professional Certification and Simulation Training of Medical and Pharmaceutical Workers. We passed theoretical and clinical exams, where we had to not only demonstrate the highest level of knowledge, but also flawlessly perform a number of procedures - to perform basic and advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation, use ABCDE-protocol, place a central catheter, make spinal anaesthesia, correctly perform intubation’.

According to the results of the Olympiad, the Andrenalin team took the 4th place out of 10 and received the nomination ‘For Optimism’. New horizons, challenges and victories are ahead!
