At Vitebsk State Medical University, on September 18, 2025, thematic events dedicated to the youngest national holiday – the Day of National Unity – were held as part of the Unified Information Day.
The event, organized for university students, took place in Dormitory No. 3. In her opening remarks, First Vice-Rector Alina Shchupakova emphasized the enduring value of national unity as a fundamental foundation of the stability and sovereignty of the Republic of Belarus. She noted that it is precisely social cohesion that ensures the successful development of the state and the prosperity of its citizens.
Valentina Kugach, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy; Evgeny Shabunin, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy; and Nadezhda Musina, Associate Professor of the Department of Social and Humanitarian Sciences, provided the participants with a detailed overview of the historical context of the Day of National Unity, its profound symbolic meaning, and its unifying messages.
The key takeaway from the event was the idea that peace and harmony in society are an absolute priority and a necessary condition for the dynamic development of all spheres of activity, including healthcare, science, and education.
Additionally, the Unified Information Day on the topic “Day of National Unity: The Importance of Peace and Harmony” was held at VSMU’s Faculty of General Medicine.
Dean of the Faculty of General Medicine Marina Fomina addressed the students and staff, emphasizing the high state and social significance of this holiday. She noted that the Day of National Unity is not only a symbol of the people's historical solidarity but also a crucial guideline affirming the value of peace and mutual respect in Belarusian society.
