Legal Education for Foreign Citizens

At Vitebsk State Medical University, work with international students is conducted regularly and systematically, contributing to their successful adaptation and comfortable stay in the Republic of Belarus.

On September 25, 2025, a meeting took place between the Vice-Rector of International Affairs and Organizational and Legal Work, D.N. Lits, and students – representatives of the Lebanese community at VSMU.

For dialogue with students, specialists from law enforcement agencies of the region were invited: Avik S.P., Head of the Department for Citizenship and Migration; Dyadichkin M.A., Head of the Traffic Police Department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee; and Lebedeva A.A., Senior Investigative Officer of the Department for Narcotics Control and Countering Human Trafficking of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.

The main topic of the meeting was enhancing the legal literacy of foreign students. During the discussion, experts covered a wide range of issues:

– Rules for organizing and participating in mass events;

– Modern risks and types of cybercrime;

– Fundamentals of personal safety;

– Strict adherence to traffic rules;

– Administrative and criminal liability for offenses, including those related to drug trafficking.

A particular emphasis was placed on crime prevention and awareness of situations that could lead to legal consequences.

Such events help ensure the legal protection of foreign students and contribute to creating a favorable and safe environment within the international student community at VSMU.
