All-Russian rally "Ambassadors of Victory. Smolensk" united patriotic youth from Russia and Belarus

From September 23 to 26, students and staff of VSMU, as part of the delegation from the Vitebsk region, participated in the events of the All-Russian rally "Ambassadors of Victory. Smolensk." This rally was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the liberation of Smolensk from the german-fascist occupation, and the 40th anniversary of Smolensk being awarded the title of "Hero City."

VSMU representatives took part in celebrations dedicated to the City Day of Smolensk, meetings with veterans, lectures on preserving historical memory, lessons in "Living History," actions "Fiery Pictures of War," and visited sites of military graves from the Great Patriotic War.

The main objectives of the All-Russian rally "Ambassadors of Victory. Smolensk" are to unite patriotic youth from Russia and Belarus, involve them in preserving historical memory, foster a generation capable of resisting attempts to distort history, protect the truth about the Great Patriotic War, and pass this knowledge to future generations.
