Dialogue Platforms on Countering Cybercrime and Crime Prevention

As part of "Freshman Month," from September 24 to 30, VSMU hosted dialogue sessions led by Ksenia Sergeevna Berezovskaya, an operational officer from the Department of Internal Affairs of the Oktyabrsky district of Vitebsk, specializing in combating cybercrime. These sessions were held with first-year students from all faculties and focused on countering cybercrime and crime prevention.

During the meetings, first-year students were introduced to common tactics used by cybercriminals in banking transactions, online shopping, communication with unknown individuals, and methods of recruiting minors into cybercrime activities.

Ksenia Sergeevna shared vivid real-life examples of people who fell victim to scams and highlighted the serious consequences of such incidents.
