VSMU students Yaroslava Klimovich, Vasilisa Maksimovich, and Elizaveta Marchenko, participants of the project "Family and Spiritual and Moral Traditions of Belarus," took part in a charity event dedicated to the Nativity of Christ. Together with the volunteer team of the Vitebsk Diocese "Rays of Goodness," the students congratulated pupils of the State Educational Institution "Special Boarding School for Children with Hearing and Speech Problems" on Christmas.
In a playful manner, they shared the holiday's history with the children, performed the play "Christmas Bun," organized outdoor games to test dexterity and ingenuity, and handed out sweet gifts.
Vasilisa Maksimovich, a first-year student of the Pediatrics Faculty, along with pupils from St. George's Sunday School in Vitebsk and the Nikiforos Youth Fraternity, visited elderly parishioners of the church, congratulating them on Christmas and Epiphany, and expressing gratitude for their moral guidance and the invaluable experience they generously share with the younger generation.
Joint actions and events by VSMU students and the Vitebsk Diocese of the Belarusian Orthodox Church foster charitable activities and volunteerism, address important social issues, and help develop the spiritual and moral qualities of future doctors.
