On March 18, 2026, Vitebsk Regional Clinical Hospital hosted a landmark event in medical science — a scientific and practical conference with international participation titled "Practice-Oriented Immunology and Allergology." The event was dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the Department of Clinical Immunology and Allergology at Vitebsk State Medical University.
The forum was organized by the General Directorate for Healthcare of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, the All-Russian State Medical University, and the public association "Federation of Specialists in Immunology and Allergology." The choice of venue emphasized the practice-oriented approach of the conference, highlighting the close connection between university science and the practical work of healthcare institutions.
The special status of the event was underscored by the fact that the jubilee Department of Clinical Immunology and Allergology, together with the Faculty of Advanced Training and Staff Retraining course at VSMU, is the only specialized unit in the system of higher medical education in the Republic of Belarus.
The main goal of the conference was to summarize the department’s 40-year experience in training students, doctors, and pharmacists, as well as to showcase the achievements of the Vitebsk scientific school.
Leading experts in immunology and allergology delivered welcoming speeches and presentations. Among the participants were Rudolf Valenta, Professor at the Medical University of Vienna; specialists from the Republican Scientific and Practical Center of Radiation Medicine and Human Ecology; the Republican Scientific and Practical Center of Pediatric Oncology, Hematology, and Immunology; members of the scientific communities of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus; and representatives of all medical universities in Belarus.
As part of the scientific program, a poster session titled "The Younger Generation of the Vitebsk Immunological School" was held, where novice scientists presented their research, demonstrating the continuity of traditions and the high potential of the Vitebsk immunological school.
