An Open Day was held at Vitebsk State Medical University on March 21, 2026. Traditionally, the guests — prospective students and their parents — were welcomed by Rector Alexey Chukanov:

"You will have an exciting learning journey at our university, but first, you need to focus and pass the entrance tests. This is one of the most important stages in your life, and trust me, it’s worth it.

We see great interest in our university, and this is no coincidence, because we strive to provide high-quality education — not only to develop your professional skills but also to create conditions for the growth of other competencies essential in today’s world. We offer more than 20 sports sections and over 15 creative teams, which are integral to every event in the city and region.

But our primary goal is to train doctors who meet the standards of today and tomorrow. The teachers working with you are top specialists, renowned both domestically and internationally for their scientific schools and publications. You will have a real chance to learn from the leading experts of Russian medicine."

During the event, guests were given a presentation about the university, its traditions, and educational opportunities. They also discussed admission rules for 2026, analyzed the competition and passing scores of 2025, and received detailed information about the selection process.

A meeting was held with representatives of organizations involved in hiring personnel, who explained the procedure for issuing targeted directions.

At the event, the rector presented diplomas to winners of the university Olympiads. Participants awarded with I, II, and III degree diplomas gained the right to enroll at VSMU without entrance exams.

Based on the Olympiad results, 54 applicants were recommended for admission, with four of them earning diplomas in two subjects simultaneously.

On thematic platforms organized by the university’s faculties, prospective students could not only learn about educational programs but also experience the specialties firsthand.

At the Pediatrics Faculty site, visitors learned about modern diagnostic methods in pediatrics. An interactive zone allowed them to familiarize themselves with the principles of working in simulation conditions similar to real pediatric consultations.

The Stomatological Faculty site transformed into a mock clinic, where visitors could try their hand at procedures like sealant application and explore advances in aesthetic restorations, using modern equipment and phantoms.

Faculty representatives clearly demonstrated how advanced technologies are integrated into the educational process.

A model of a modern pharmacy was set up at the Pharmaceutical Faculty site.

Each venue was arranged as an open dialogue area, allowing applicants to communicate directly with faculty leaders, teachers, and students. This format provided insight into the diverse career paths available after graduating from VSMU.
