Visiting event "Exploring the Motherland – explore yourself"

On March 27, 2026, student activists of VSMU, together with university staff, organized an off-site event titled "Getting to Know Your Homeland — Getting to Know Yourself."

A group of 20 people arrived at a forest clearing near the picturesque Lake Shevino by university vehicle. First, the students and staff cleaned up the area adjacent to the reservoir and the forest—a favorite vacation spot for residents of our region. This supported the public action "Forest! Dubro! Paradak!", initiated by the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Belarus.

Alexander Myasoedov, Chairman of the VSMU staff union committee, engagingly told the students about folk customs and rituals associated with the arrival of spring, the return of birds from wintering, and the start of sowing in the fields. Afterwards, participants had the opportunity to cook some Belarusian national dishes over a campfire and taste their creations together. Making colorful paper birds and decorating the forest with them became an immersion into our people's ritual culture—a traditional way to attract migratory birds back to their native lands.

The university's sports club organized a sports and gaming program featuring traditional folk amusements.

The day was fun, lively, informative, and, most importantly, beneficial for both participants and nature.

The event was organized by the university administration, the trade union committees of students and staff, and the sports club.
