On March 27, 2026, a meeting of the Board of the General Medicine Faculty was held. The agenda included several important issues related to the organization of the educational process and educational work. However, the most relevant and key issue was ensuring cybersecurity among faculty, staff, and students.
Ksenia Berezovskaya, an officer from the Department for Combating Cybercrime of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Oktyabrsky district of Vitebsk, delivered an insightful report on this topic. The law enforcement representative detailed the basic precautions aimed at protecting personal data and financial resources, as well as modern methods of countering intruders in the digital environment.
In her speech, Ksenia Sergeevna focused on the analysis of fraudulent schemes that have become widespread in recent years. Special attention was given to crimes committed using information and communication technologies, in which both university staff and residents of the Vitebsk region have become victims or targets of unlawful attacks.
Following her presentation, a lively discussion took place within a constructive dialogue framework. Council members and invited participants had the opportunity to ask relevant questions concerning both the legal aspects of protection against cyber threats and the steps to take in case of fraud attempts. Comprehensive and competent responses were provided to all questions.
