Education and safety are in the focus of attention: a methodological association of curators was held at the university

On March 31, 2026, the university hosted a methodological association of study group curators, attended by Dmitry Kuzhel, Vice-Rector of Ideological and Educational Work; Elena Sharykhina, Head of the Department for International and Interregional Relations; Lyudmila Somova, head of the Methodical Association; Inna Matsuk, methodologist; Margarita Orlova, Deputy Dean of the Overseas Students Training Faculty; and Victoria Mikhlyuk, Head of the Social– educational and psychological service.

The meeting's agenda was broad and covered a wide range of issues, from strategic initiatives to practical action plans. The study group curators discussed:

• The Year of the Belarusian Woman: An overview of existing and upcoming events at the university highlighting women's contributions to science, culture, and public life in the country.
• Housing and Household Aspects: Participants analyzed monitoring results regarding curators' work with students living in dormitories. An inspection organized by the Department of Ideological and Educational Work in collaboration with the Dean's Office of the Russian Academy of Sciences revealed best practices and areas for growth.
• Values and Ideals: Colleagues from the Pediatrics Faculty (E.G. Talivanova and Yu.A. Petrova) shared their experience in fostering students’ traditional family values and life orientations.
• Safety and Prevention: Special emphasis was placed on preventing suicidal behavior. The supervisors were reminded of the action algorithms in crisis situations. Additionally, materials from the Department of the Investigative Committee for the Vitebsk region related to crime prevention and cybersecurity issues were reviewed.

The highlight of the event was the presentation titled "Restoration of the Temples of Vitebsk Region," prepared by Elizaveta Batygina, a sixth-year student of the General Medicine Faculty. Her work garnered significant interest as an example of deep patriotic and spiritual-moral engagement with her native land.
