The primary trade union organizations of VSMU employees and students organized a trip called "The Heart of Novgorod" to one of the oldest cities in Russia. The journey brought together history and culture enthusiasts from among teachers, staff, and students.

The excursion began with a car tour of the Novgorod region. The first stop was the Yuriev Monastery, followed by a visit to the open-air museum of wooden architecture, "Vitoslavlitsy," where visitors saw ancient huts filled with authentic peasant household items. Next, participants enjoyed a walking tour of the Novgorod Kremlin.

The Novgorod Handicraft block was a particular highlight—featuring master classes in birch bark weaving and traditional women’s crafts and folk costumes. The program concluded with a visit to the Museum's Porcelain Workshop.

Alexander Myasoyedov, Chairman of the VSMU staff union committee, emphasized that the trip took place shortly after the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia, a holiday symbolizing the shared historical destinies, spiritual ties, and cultural roots of the two countries.

"Such trips not only enrich knowledge about Russia’s history and cultural heritage but also foster respect for our common past and strengthen the unity of our university community," said Alexander Myasoyedov.
