The primary organization of the republican public association "Patriots of Belarus" has been established at VSMU

On May 29, 2026, a landmark event took place at the Vitebsk State Order of Peoples' Friendship Medical University — a meeting on the creation of the primary organization of the Republican Public Association "Patriots of Belarus" at VSMU.

The meeting was attended by VSMU Rector Alexey Chukanov, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Vitebsk regional organization of the Republican Public Association "Patriots of Belarus" Olga Matsyusya, Chairman of the Vitebsk city organization of the Republican Public Association "Patriots of Belarus" Maria Golikova-Gribanova, as well as leaders and activists of public associations of VSMU: Belaya Rus, Belarusian Union of Women, Belarusian Republican Youth Union, representatives of the military-patriotic club "I Serve the Fatherland" and the student trade union of the university.

The creation of the primary organization of "Patriots of Belarus" on the basis of a medical university is designed to strengthen the work on the civic and patriotic education of young people, the preservation of historical memory and the formation of an active lifestyle among future doctors. Now VSMU students and staff will be able to become even more actively involved in socially significant projects, volunteer initiatives and events aimed at the prosperity of their native Belarus.
