Meeting with a young prisoner, a graduate of the VGMI in 1968, Valentina E. Volkova

On June 2, 2026, the university administration, representatives of public associations, students and staff of VSMU met with a young prisoner, a graduate of the medical faculty of the Vitebsk Medical Institute, an excellent health worker Valentina Volkova Evdokimovna.

Everyone was indelibly impressed by Valentina Vasilyevna's touching story about the years spent in the 5th Regiment and Auschwitz concentration camps, about the happy moments of liberation from the death camp and the meeting of the long-awaited Victory Day in Moscow. Interesting for students and staff was her story about the entrance exams and the years of study at the Vitebsk Medical Institute, work in healthcare institutions and the award of the badge "Excellent Healthcare Worker" (1991).

At the end of the event, Valentina Evdokimovna addressed the audience with wishes to preserve peace, preserve and transmit the historical memory of the years of the Great Patriotic War and the Great Victory to the next generations.
