VSMU specialists took part in the XXV Republican scientific and practical conference "Modern achievements of Neurology and Neurosurgery"

On June 4-5, 2026, Grodno hosted the XXV Republican anniversary scientific and practical conference with international participation "Modern Achievements of Neurology and Neurosurgery" and a satellite Republican scientific and practical conference dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery of Grodno State Medical University.

The Departments of Neurology and Neurosurgery at VSMU and GrSMU have been linked by many years of friendship and fruitful cooperation in the field of establishing international contacts, organizing an English-language course for international students, preparing joint textbooks in English and introducing modern technologies for the diagnosis and treatment of cerebrovascular disorders.  

Yu.V. Alekseenko, Head of the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery at VSMU, and Professor K.M. Kubrakov made presentations in the educational program of the conference. Young researchers, neurologists and neurosurgeons from VSMU and Vitebsk healthcare institutions, presented the largest number of presentations of their research results.

In the competition program, the honorable first and second places were won by the work of the team of authors of the VSMU and the Vitebsk Regional Clinical Hospital: T.S. Osipovskaya, A.S. Borokha, I.A. Sapego, Yu.V. Alekseenko "Diagnosis of transient global amnesia taking into account various triggers and provoking situations" and I.A. Sapego, M.N. Melesheva, E.S. Kharitonovich "The effectiveness of yoga classes in the correction of chronic pain in the back and neck."
