On June 26, 2026, First Vice-Rector Alina Shchupakova met at VSMU with pharmaceutical students from the I.P. Pavlov Ryazan State Medical University and the St. Petersburg State University of Chemistry and Pharmacy, who arrived at VSMU to undergo an internship in pharmacognosy.
The meeting was held in a warm and businesslike atmosphere. Alina Nikolaevna welcomed the guests from the Russian partner universities and noted the importance of developing academic mobility and international cooperation between the universities of Belarus and Russia. She stressed that VSMU is always happy to receive students from friendly countries to share their experiences and deepen their professional knowledge.
Pharmacist students undergo an internship in pharmacognosy at VSMU, one of the key disciplines in the training of pharmacists studying medicinal plant raw materials. For Russian students, this is a unique opportunity not only to master practical skills under the guidance of experienced VSMU teachers, but also to get acquainted with the rich flora of Belarus. As part of the internship, students visited the Berezinsky Biosphere Reserve, the Botanical Garden of the All-Russian State Medical University, the laboratories of the Vitebsk UE "Pharmacy" and other specialized facilities, where they got acquainted with medicinal herbs, technologies for collecting and processing plant raw materials.
Concluding the meeting, Alina Shchupakova wished the students a successful internship, new knowledge and vivid impressions from their stay in Vitebsk, and also expressed hope for further strengthening cooperation between universities.
