VSMU employees joined the VI interregional bike ride of members of the Belarusian Trade Union of Healthcare Workers of the Vitebsk region, dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus

The start of the sports and patriotic action took place on July 2, 2026 at the memorial complex "To the Liberators of Vitebsk – Soviet soldiers, partisans and underground fighters." Representatives of the Vitebsk State Medical University joined the column of more than 50 participants.

The memorial route passed through significant historical sites of the city: the Dvina Embankment, the monument to Peter Masherov, Uspenskaya Hill, the sign "To the Children of War", as well as monuments to Minai Shmyrev and Alexander Horovets.

The final point of the bike ride was the Flag and Coat of Arms Square, where the bike column finished at the flagpole stele, paying tribute to the heroic past and the state symbols of the Republic of Belarus.
