Vitebsk State Medical University participates in the first meeting of the Belarusian-Saudi Business Council

The first meeting of the Belarusian-Saudi Business Council is taking place in Minsk on July 15, 2026. The council was attended by representatives of relevant government agencies and major exporters of the two countries. VSMU acted as one of the main participants on the part of the education and healthcare system of the Republic of Belarus.

The establishment of a business council between Belarus and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is intended to bring bilateral relations to a fundamentally new level. The new structure will be presented simultaneously in Minsk and Riyadh. Its main mission is to promote the development of foreign trade, create conditions for the implementation of joint projects and attract foreign direct investment to Belarus.

As President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko noted in a recent interview with Al-Arabiya TV channel, Belarus has proposed to intensify cooperation with Saudi Arabia in a wide range of areas, from agriculture to education and technology. 

VSMU's participation in the work of the business council opens up new prospects for the export of Belarusian educational services, the training of Saudi medical personnel and the implementation of joint research projects in the field of healthcare.

As a result of the meeting, it is expected to develop specific cooperation mechanisms that will allow Belarusian manufacturers and educational institutions to more effectively enter the fast-growing Saudi market.
