Meeting of VSMU Rector Alexey Chukanov with university students undergoing final internship in special military training

On July 22, 2026, VSMU Rector Alexey Chukanov visited the 103rd Vitebsk Separate Guards Airborne Brigade, where he met with university students undergoing final practical training in special military training.

During the visit, Alexey Nikolaevich got acquainted with the living conditions of future officers in the military unit, and also examined the educational facilities involved in conducting practical exercises.

In July, VSMU students enrolled in the reserve officer training program complete the course with final practice, which is organized in the form of training camps both at the educational institution and directly at the location of the 103rd Separate Guards Airborne Brigade.

Conducting this stage in an active military unit allows young people to fully familiarize themselves with the organization of service and everyday life of military personnel, develop teamwork skills and objectively evaluate their own professional and personal qualities.

The main efforts during the training camp are focused on deepening theoretical knowledge and developing practical skills in key military accounting specialties, including fire and engineering training, radiation, chemical and biological protection, as well as organizing medical support for troops. Students are fully integrated into the daily routine of the military unit, observing all the requirements of routine moments — from morning wake-up to evening lights-out. Such an organization of the final practice, as the participants themselves emphasize, greatly contributes to strengthening patriotic feelings, fostering respect for military work and the formation of conscious involvement in the defense of the Fatherland.

In a conversation with the rector, the students shared their impressions of the past days of the training camp, focusing on the value of the experience gained.
