On July 30, 2026, Vitebsk State Medical University hosted a dialogue platform with the participation of Alexander Shpakovsky, a Belarusian political commentator and deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus of the VIII convocation. The event was held in the format of an open and direct conversation: everyone present could ask the analyst any question of concern.
The focus is on a detailed analysis of the military and political situation in the world and the Eastern European region, the situation around the Belarusian borders, as well as current aspects of the country's defense and socio—economic policy. The issues of labor migration, demography and internal political processes were discussed separately.
The key objective of such meetings, the deputy stressed, is the maximum involvement of compatriots in the process of making managerial decisions. Citizens should not only participate in public policy, but also clearly understand the essence of the decisions taken.: This is the basis for maintaining socio-political stability. The government conducts a direct dialogue with the people on an ongoing basis, and the most important decisions are always widely discussed by the public.
Representatives of enterprises of various forms of ownership gathered in the hall of VSMU. Special attention was paid to explaining the most pressing social issues and the main directions of state policy. As the speaker noted, citizens have the opportunity to directly address deputies, and the task of the authorities is not to limit themselves to rhetoric, but to respond promptly to identified problems, keep them under control and achieve practical results.
