VSMU First-Year Students Meet with CEC Chairman Igor Karpenko as Part of the “Not by Chance Meetings” Project

On September 2, 2026, first-year students of Vitebsk State Medical University, together with Vice-Rector for Ideological and Educational Work Dmitry Kuzhel and Deputy Deans of the faculties, took part in the educational project “Not by Chance Meetings”. The guest of the meeting was Igor Vasilyevich Karpenko, Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Belarus.

The dialogue was open and engaging. The discussion focused on issues of particular relevance to young people today, including the principles of the electoral system and the Belarusian People’s Assembly, prospects for electronic voting, demographic policy, government support measures for young professionals, as well as the distribution and retention of personnel in the regions.

The meeting concluded naturally with the participants thanking Igor Vasilyevich for his openness, directness and willingness to answer even the most challenging questions.
