VSMU Welcomes Guests from Gomel: Science, Experience Sharing and a Friendly Atmosphere as Part of the “Student Bridge” Project

On September 10–11, Vitebsk State Medical University is hosting a delegation of students from Gomel State Medical University as part of the national project “Student Bridge: Youth Mobility as a Tool for Developing Partnerships, Sharing Ideas and Innovation”.

Future healthcare professionals from the two universities have come together to exchange experience and ideas and find new areas of cooperation in education, research and extracurricular activities.

The initiative, implemented with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, aims to strengthen inter-university cooperation and create a common environment for the professional and personal development of young people.

The visit began with a presentation meeting entitled “VSMU: Development Trajectory”. The guests were welcomed by University Rector Alexey Chukanov, while VSMU representatives spoke about the university’s history, educational programmes and student organizations.

Following the official part of the programme, the participants took a guided tour of the university. The students explored specialized laboratories equipped with high-tech facilities, learned about the specifics of the educational process at VSMU and asked questions about the research projects of their colleagues from Vitebsk.

The first day’s programme did not end there. In the evening, the delegation will have an opportunity to discover Vitebsk through a guided walk along the city’s central streets and historical sites, as well as take part in a series of informal activities designed to strengthen friendly ties and create memorable experiences.
