Unity Day — A Symbol of Belarusians’ Pride: VSMU Holds Unified Information Day

On September 10, 2026, Vitebsk State Medical University held a Unified Information Day devoted to the topic “Unity Day as a Factor of National Pride”. The event brought together university administrators, students and teaching staff for an open dialogue on the key values of Belarusian statehood.

The audience was addressed by Ivan Martinkevich, Deputy Dean for Ideological and Educational Work of the Faculty of Pediatrics. In his speech, he emphasized that Unity Day is a powerful symbol of solidarity that directly contributes to the preservation of sovereignty, historical memory and the national identity of Belarusians.

The central topic of the dialogue was social consolidation, which, according to the speaker, is a decisive factor in the sustainable development of the country.

Ivan Martinkevich emphasized that Belarusians have much to be proud of: modern Belarus is among the few countries in the world that have managed to fully ensure their food security while also preserving a strong intellectual and industrial potential.

Particular attention during the meeting was paid to patriotism and the continuity between generations. The speaker noted that a strong national state cannot exist without carefully preserving the historical memory of the victims of the past and without profound respect for fellow citizens who gave their lives for a united and indivisible Belarus. The participants agreed that the unity of the people is the main foundation for the country’s further prosperity.
