VSMU Students and Staff Take Part in the “We Are United. The Road Home” Patriotic Event

On September 16, a large-scale patriotic event entitled "We Are United. The Road Home", dedicated to Unity Day, was held at the Disna Defensive Line.

The event was attended by representatives of government bodies, public associations and work collectives, young people, and everyone who cherishes the history of their native land. A delegation of Vitebsk State Medical University staff and students, headed by Rector Alexey Chukanov, also took part in this significant event.

The participants observed a minute of silence in memory of the defenders of Belarusian soil and laid flowers at the memorial.

A theatrical performance reconstructing the events of the Polish occupation of Western Belarus and the Red Army's liberation campaign allowed the participants to immerse themselves in the events of the past and vividly demonstrated the heroism and resilience of the defenders of their native land.

The VSMU Military Department presented examples of weapons and military equipment and also conducted a first-aid workshop focused on providing assistance in field conditions.

As part of the event, congratulatory activities, a flash mob and interactive areas were organized, bringing all those present together in a shared sense of pride in their country and its heroic history.
