Visit of the Deputy Minister of Health of the Russian Federation to Vitebsk State Medical University

On September 24, Vitebsk State Medical University was visited by Andrey Nikolaevich Plutnitsky, Deputy Minister of Health of the Russian Federation, and Darya Olegovna Shmakova, Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Public Relations.

The guests were welcomed by Alexey Nikolaevich Chukanov, Rector of VSMU, and the heads of the university's international departments.

As part of the visit, a presentation was given on the university's educational, scientific and educational-development activities. During the meeting, the guests were introduced to the university's history, facilities and extensive educational opportunities. A tour of the university enabled the delegation to assess the equipment of the academic buildings, as well as the conditions provided for students' and staff's research activities.

Particular attention during the negotiations was paid to projects being implemented within the Union State in the fields of healthcare, pharmaceuticals and medical education.

The parties discussed prospects for further cooperation aimed at integrating educational standards and exchanging experience between institutions of the two countries.

During the visit, Andrey Nikolaevich also met with university students who are citizens of the Russian Federation. The students enthusiastically spoke about their studies, the conditions created for professional training at the university and in the country as a whole, as well as the opportunities for scientific and professional development provided by the university.

The visit will contribute to the development and expansion of good-neighborly relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation, as well as to attracting Russian students to study at Belarusian universities.
