On September 29, 2026, the National Scientific Conference “Military Medicine: History and the Present” was held at Vitebsk State Medical University.
The forum aims to summarize experience in modern methods of training military doctors and medical specialists in disaster medicine for emergency situations, exchange practical experience, and discuss the latest achievements in military medical science.
The conference was attended not only by VSMU teaching staff, but also by members of the expert community and representatives of Belarusian higher education institutions. The program included three sections: “Military and Emergency Medicine,” “Infectious Pathology as a Biosafety Issue,” and “Modern Approaches to the Prevention of Infectious Diseases.”
Conference participants discussed current issues of biological safety, modern methods of diagnosing, treating, and preventing infectious diseases, including in field hospitals and healthcare institutions operating under heightened readiness conditions.
Special attention was paid to the historical heritage of military medicine in Belarus, continuity in the traditions of medical personnel training, and the introduction of innovative educational technologies into the learning process.
The organizers noted that holding such scientific forums contributes to consolidating the efforts of the medical community, improving the quality of specialist training, and promptly implementing advanced developments in the healthcare system and the provision of national security.
