Vitebsk State Medical University and Brest Regional Children’s Hospital Sign a Cooperation Agreement

On 8 October 2026, Vitebsk State Order of Peoples’ Friendship Medical University and Brest Regional Children’s Hospital signed a cooperation agreement. The event was attended by the heads of both institutions and invited specialists.

The agreement was signed by VSMU Rector Alexey Chukanov and Chief Physician of Brest Regional Children’s Hospital Sergey Kovshik.

The agreement aims to develop joint research, exchange professional experience, and expand educational programmes for students, postgraduate students, and research staff. The parties intend to pool their efforts to address current challenges in paediatric medicine and support young professionals.

According to the participants, the partnership will help accelerate the introduction of innovative diagnostic and treatment methods in the Brest Region and promote the professional development of healthcare workers. Joint efforts are expected to create new opportunities for doctors’ continuing professional development, the adoption of modern clinical care protocols, and the use of advanced technologies in everyday clinical practice. Particular emphasis will be placed on sharing experience between seasoned specialists and young doctors, providing additional incentives for professional growth and encouraging them to remain in the region.

The parties expressed confidence that this cooperation will be an important step towards strengthening the regional healthcare workforce and maintaining a high standard of medical care.
